Know your chargeback risk before Shopify acts on it.

ChargeRadar watches your Shopify Payments disputes, your chargeback rate against Visa's 0.9% line, and the risky orders stacking up — and warns you days before you cross a threshold or lose your evidence window. Flat $19/month. No per-alert fees. Ever.

Why merchants are scared

"One chargeback away from collapse." — an actual r/dropshipping post. It's not an outlier: sellers report $37,000 frozen for 120 days, and one store was frozen with a 0.13% chargeback rate — far below every official threshold.

1. The line moved. Visa's monitoring threshold (VAMP) dropped from 1.5% to 0.9% on January 1, 2026. The "safe zone" you operated in last year doesn't exist anymore. Most merchants haven't noticed.
2. The freeze isn't just about your rate. Merchants with sub-0.5% rates still get payouts held — volume spikes, fulfillment delays, refund patterns and product category all feed the decision. You can't manage what you can't see.
3. The clock is silent. Every dispute has an evidence deadline (often ~7–21 days). Miss it once and you auto-lose, plus the fee — no appeal. One seller "stupidly forgot to submit evidence" and posted about it on Reddit the same day.

How freezes actually happen

The 4-step path from "normal store" to "frozen account" — every step before the freeze is visible in your own Shopify data first. That's the window we watch.

Disputes start arriving. Each one adds a fee ($15+) even if you eventually win.
Your dispute rate climbs. Card networks monitor it monthly. Cross 0.90% and you enter Visa's VAMP monitoring — fees and escalating consequences follow.
The processor reacts. Shopify Payments applies a rolling reserve (commonly ~20% of payouts) or freezes funds — typically up to 120 days — based on multiple risk signals, not just your dispute rate.
Or it ends your processing. Some merchants report account termination with payouts held for months.
We can't release frozen funds or override Shopify's risk decisions — no one outside Shopify can. What we do is make sure you see trouble early enough to act: resolve, refund, and document before thresholds are crossed.

🚩 High-Risk Order Watch

Orders flagged with high fraud scores or AVS/CVV mismatches — surfaced with the math: refund now (costs the margin) or ship and risk a $15+ chargeback fee. You decide; we make sure you saw it.

You approve ChargeRadar through Shopify's official authorization with read-only permissions (orders + disputes). We can never modify orders, refund, or charge anything — no "full account access" like some alert tools require. First scan maps your baseline; after that, you get warned, not surprised.

Priced like software, not like alerts

Alert networks (Ethoca/Verifi) charge resellers per dispute intercepted, so alert tools pass it on — one busy month can cost more than our whole year. We're the flat-fee early-warning layer underneath.

FAQ

Is this compliant? Does it game Shopify's system?

No — and we wouldn't. ChargeRadar is monitoring and alerting only, with read-only API access you grant through Shopify's official OAuth. We don't touch your funds, dispute outcomes, or Shopify's risk decisions. Our goal is the opposite of gaming: help you run a cleaner operation — fewer disputes, faster responses, better documentation — so thresholds are never crossed in the first place.

Can you get my frozen funds released?

No. Nobody outside Shopify can do that — be wary of anyone claiming otherwise. What we do is help you avoid the next freeze by watching the signals that precede one.

What is VAMP and the 0.9% threshold?

Visa's Acquirer Monitoring Program. Effective January 1, 2026, Visa consolidated its monitoring programs into VAMP with a dispute threshold of 0.90% (down from the previous 1.5% era). Cross it and your account enters monitoring with fines and escalating consequences. Our dashboard tracks your rate against this line continuously.

Do I need to install anything on my store?

No App Store app, no theme changes. You approve a read-only connection through Shopify's official flow and you're done. Revoking takes one click in your Shopify admin.

What data do you see?

Order and dispute data needed for your dashboard: dispute statuses, amounts, deadlines, order risk flags, and aggregate counts. We don't build customer profiles, never sell data, and you can delete everything with one click.

I already use Chargeflow or Chargeblast. Why this?

Different layers. They charge per intercepted dispute ($19–29 each) or take 20–25% of recoveries. We're the flat-fee early-warning layer underneath: your rate, your deadlines, your risky orders. Many merchants use us alongside them — some find that with early warnings they need them less.
